Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen said today that the House Interior, Environment Appropriations conference report passed the House of Representatives with $900,000 for critical wastewater system repairs and improvements in the Virgin Islands. The bill also includes $4.1 million more in Assistance to Territories over what was proposed in the Senate bill. Congresswoman Christensen thanked House Interior and Environment Subcommittee Chairman Norm Dicks for his assistance in ensuring that the territory’s needs were addressed.

The bill also funds the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, the Drinking Water Revolving Fund, the Superfund, Brownfields and Environmental Justice Programs. It also increases funding for National Parks and climate change research. A continuing resolution funding the Small Business Administration, and housing programs were also included in the measure.
